When your family owns a shop called Deck the Halls, Christmas should be the best time of the year. But for twelve-year-old Krista Sorenson, Christmas is all work and no play. To make matters worse, she has a pregnant mother who’s about to go on bed rest for the holidays, a bad case of stage fright that’s keeping her stuck in the wings, and an embarrassing habit of forgetting how to talk whenever she’s anywhere near her crush, Nate Alvarez. When Krista finds a mysterious Advent Box that seems to grant unlimited wishes, she thinks it’s the answer to her problems. Except…none of Krista’s wishes are going according to plan. Then her grandparents announce they’re selling the store and Krista must figure out the true purpose of the Advent Box, even if it takes a Christmas miracle.
Comforting as a big mug of cocoa in front of a warm fire, this cozy family novel is about the connections we make and the traditions that keep us together.
